Messengertalk (Tala & Rei, occasional Bryan)

Rei stopped licking the cut and stared at Tala, then at the table...

-"...You did that yourself, didn't you?"
Rei was still holding Tala's hand, but stared the knife on the table.

'Shit. Did I leave it there?' he never noticed it.

"It's just a paper knife..." he said in childlike voice, staring the floor.

Rei took a tighter grip of Tala's hand and pulled the Russian in his arms, hugging him.

-"Don't lie to me Tala, because I know that this wasn't the first time you did this to yourself..."

"I'm scared... I don't know why I do it. Not anymore. Bryan... He was too rough with me... Look at me, Rei. There's nothing I can do against him. Now I'm afraid. As long as SPencer is in the house, I'm not afraid that he will come back. If he sees you..."

Everything that had been bothering him came out in one wave. He just let Rei hold him.

Rei pushed Tala gently away a bit, so he could look at the Russian boy, straight in the eyes.

-"You don't have to worry about Bryan, Tala. If he is still mad and furious when he comes back, then I'll try my best to protect you. I know that the fight has got nothing to do with me, or so I think, but I promised you once before today that I'll help you in everything, where ever you needed me..."

"I know, I know..." He knew Rei was telling the truth. He was just refusing to believe it. Suddenly, he froze.

"I think I heard the front door..."

-"Ok, let me check it... I'll be right back soon..."

Rei left the room and shut the door behind him, leaving Tala alone in the room.

Bryan whistled quietly as he put the spare key he had stolen to his pocket. He had forgotten one thing and he was back to get it. And maybe something more.

'Poor attempt to try to keep a thief away, boys. I thought you knew me better.' He was in his thoughts as he glanced to the outside.

Tala sat on his bed, clutching his arm. His eyes widened and he dashed to his drawers and started digging through one of them. Ian had a bad memory...

The spare key he usually kept there was gone. The spare key to the shed, which he had locked before going to get Rei. The spare key to the shed where the spare key to the front door was.

That meant Bryan was in the house.

Rei walked in the dark corridor, trying to find his way to the hall.

*Why am I doing this? In the dark, where I barely can see my arms and feet... I'm not a cat or anything... Where is the switch of the lights..?*

Rei was touching the wall while walking in the dark hallway, when he touched something else, softer and warmer than any wall could be...

Bryan froze when he heard footsteps. Worse, he couldn't recognize the walking. There was one more person in the house. One thing he hated about the house. You never knew exactly where the sound came from.

Suddenly, something touched his back and made him whirl around, ready to strike. NO matter how dark it was. Or who it was.

Grabbing Wolborg along his way, Tala made it out of his room. If Rei ran into Bryan before knowing... And the light switch on this corridor was the shittiest one. It was dangling from one of the lights hanging from the ceiling.

'Fucking closet lights', he swore in his mind, when he thought he saw something ahead of him and though he had found the right cord.

Bryan blinked at the sudden light and stumbled back until his eyes got used to it. He stared at the figure infront of him.

"You", he snarled, not seeing Tala some distance away, behind Rei.

Tala had been prepared to the light, so he adjusted fast and saw what he was afraid of. Bryan. The glare which was directed to Rei was lethal. He saw Bryan lower his fist, but his right hand twitched. Tala knew what was in that pocket.

"What the fuck you're doing here? Did Tala switch that fast? Well, like you could stop me..." He reached to ihs pocket and pudded out a pocket knife, flicking the blade open. Then he saw Tala standing further away in the corridor. He narrowed his eyes.

"You fucking bitch..." he ground out and before neither of the younger men had time to react, he had flung the knife towards Tala, who only had raised his beyblade, loud howl of a wolf practically shaking the whole house.

Rei saw what was going to happen and tried to protect Tala from the furious Falcon, but Bryan ignored him and just pushed Rei to the wall on his way towards Tala.

-"Stop it Bryan! What are you doing?!"

The knife Bryan threw would have hit Tala, if Rei hadn't disturbed Bryan enough and Tala guessed what was going to happen. The knife was now sticking out from the wall an inch away of Tala's side.

"Bryan. What you're doing here?"

"I forgot one thing. Actually two things..."

"Was the other one the attempt of killing me?"

"Might have been." He kept his hand on Rei's chest, pinning him to the wall. "Are you a slut nowdays? Right after one is gone you take another one?"

"That's not the case, Bryan."

"Like I'd believe you..."

"Your loss..."

Bryan narrowed his eyes. He was have to calculate the situation. Spencer and Ian might show up any minute, Wolborg could snap his neck in two and Tala had easy access to the knife... But he had Rei within arm's reach...

Rei was getting worried, like he wasn't that already, but the situation was a way too serious at the moment, anything could happen.

-"Bryan, Tala's telling you the truth. We didn't sleep together or anything. I'm here as a guest, that's all."

Bryan listened Rei even though he was seething. He reluctantly released Rei when he heard Spencer's footsteps.

"I still have things to take care of in here..." He stalked towards Tala, who did nothing and yanked the knife off the wall, before simply slashing it across Tala's chest. "You're a weakling... Always have been... Spencer, I'm here for Falborg. All I want now is Falborg."

"In your room..."

Bryan dropped the knife next to Tala, who lay on the floor, gasping and clutching his chest.

'The cut wasn't even deep...' Bryan thought in disgust.

Tala had fell to his knees on the floor, nobody helping him. He felt blood seeping through the t-shirt he had, staining his arm he was pressing against it. He felt like his heart was going to break. He had loved Bryan. He should have listened to Kai back then.

Bryan searched through his room and managed to find Falborg. The bit beast didn't seem to be happy about what he had done to Tala. Like he cared anyway. He stalked past them as Ian was wrapping gauze around Tala's torso with help or Rei.

-"You're gonna be fine Tala, I'll promiss you... Spencer, could you take my place?"

Rei left Tala with Ian and Spencer to carry him. Rei himself ran quickly into the computer room and took his beyblade with him. Then he ran back, outside and yelled:

-"Hey Bryan! Did you think that you could just come back and do whatever you want?!"

"I do whatever I want, Kon. None of you has anything to say to it, understand?" He threw the spare key at Rei, who caught it.

"So you can be sure, I won't return. Go and play play house happily ever after. I couldn't care less."

-"Even if I didn't have the right, still... You stabbed Tala. He's your boyfriend! Don't you care about him at all anymore?!"
